THE CENTER OF OUR SOUL
The Mahogany Soul journey began in 2010 with this community of talented artisans determined to overcome poverty in Kigali, Rwanda. Today, Mahogany Soul exists to end poverty through job creation working directly with artisans in Rwanda, Haiti and Grenada.

ARTISAN INTRO

Christelle, from Haiti
Christelle and I met because I wanted to purchase the necklace she was wearing. Her unique design using up-cycled cattle horn is so impressive. She is a talented designer and has become a really good friend. She employs a team of Haitians and has a shop in Port-au-Prince. Her work is truly one-of-a-kind and I guarantee you will fall in love with everything.

Grace, from Rwanda
Grace and I met in 2010. She was working at a women's co-operative I shopped and we instantly became friends. Years later, Grace decided to start her own business and I supported her. When she started she employed two people. Today she has a team of twelve! Grace and her team make some of the most beautiful home goods and travel bags made from kitenge (east African material). I hope you enjoy them.

Abraham, from Rwanda
I was a customer of Abraham years before I actually met him. Back then, he did not have his own shop...now he does! It is massive. It is beautiful. Abraham makes brass jewelry from recycled padlocks and it is all stunning! His eye for design aligns perfectly with the Mahogany Soul clientele. I look forward to my visits to Rwanda to see Abraham because he ALWAYS has something designed so perfect to my style...and hopefully yours.
